What are the common types of plumbing services?

What causes a clogged toilet?

You might also have a clogged toilet if you notice water pooling in front of it or an increase in your water bill as a result of usage, even though nothing has been flushed. A blockage may be due to people flushing too many items such as paper towels, diapers, feminine hygiene products or other non-flushable objects down the commode. It should not take more than one flush for these types of trash items to go down the toilet.

What is the best way to prevent clogs in my sink from happening again?

You should use a drain cover if there’s no garbage disposal in your sink, and always dispose of stringy foods or other materials that can easily clog the drain. If you have a dishwasher, don’t put any food into it because this will just create more waste to deal with later on.

Using boiling water is also an effective way to unclog drains by melting fats from grease buildup. How do I know if my water heater is working correctly?

Your water heater should be able to produce hot, clean drinking water within a few minutes of turning it on. A good way to test this is by filling a glass with cold tap water from the kitchen sink and waiting for your bathtub or shower faucet to turn warm. If you have an electric storage tank-type unit, run your finger over the top – if there’s no heat coming out, it’ll feel cool when you touch it (or go check in person).
